Staphylococcus aureus 金黃葡萄球菌

Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is a facultative anaerobic, Gram-positive coccus which appears in pairs, short chains, or grape-like clusters under microscopic examination. Some strains of S. aureus are capable of producing a highly heat-stable toxin that causes illness in humans.

S. aureus exists in environmental samples (air, sewage, and water), food, environmental surfaces, humans, and animals. Humans and animals are the primary reservoirs. Although food handlers are usually the main source of food contamination, equipment and environmental surfaces can also be sources of contamination with S. aureus.

As S. aureus is one of the most common food pathogen, routine testing of your food products is highly recommended. Beside food testing, our laboratory offers on-site swab testing service, which could detect the presence of S. aureus on food equipment, environmental surfaces, and hands of food handlers.

金黃葡萄球菌(S. aureus )是一種兼性厭氧革蘭氏陽性球菌。在顯微鏡下、通常出現雙、短鏈或葡萄狀簇。有些金黃葡萄球菌有能力生產出耐熱穩定毒素,導致人類患病。

金黃葡萄球菌存在於環境(空氣、污水、水)、食品、環境表面、人類和動物。人類和動物是主要的細菌溫床。雖然食物處理手法通常是食品污染的主要根源,設備和環境表面也可以是金黃葡萄球菌的污染來源。
