Some types of preservative are currently permitted adding in food at limited level, under Hong Kong food law Part V (Food & drugs of the Public Health and Municipal Services Ordinance (Cap. 132)

• Formaldehyde 甲醛

• Salicyclic Acid 水楊酸

• Sulphur dioxide 二氧化硫

• Para-bens 苯甲酸酯

• Propionic Acid 丙酸
